TikTok: The European Commission bans the application on the devices of its employees due to security concerns

The staff of the European Commission have been instructed to remove the TikTok app from their mobile phones and corporate devices.

The Commission said it had taken this measure in order to protect data and enhance electronic security.

The TikTok application, which is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, faces allegations of collecting user data and handing it over to the Chinese government.

And those in charge of TikTok insist that the app works in a way that is no different from other social media applications

EU Industry Commissioner Thierry Breton told a press conference that the EU's executive authority is focusing on the issue of cybersecurity, refusing to give more details.
